Recommendation policy
Effective date: 9 October 2026
Crino provides information and recommendations about credit cards, benefits, points, and travel options based on the information available when a recommendation is prepared. This policy explains our approach and its limits. It does not replace the Terms of Service, which govern your subscription and use of Crino.
What a recommendation means
A recommendation is Crino’s assessment of available options—not a guarantee, instruction, or prediction. It reflects the issuer and program information we have reviewed, the details you provide, and our judgment at the time shown.
Recommendations may be incomplete or become outdated. Issuers and travel programs control their own terms, decisions, prices, inventory, and systems. You must confirm material details directly with the relevant provider before acting.
How we are paid
Crino is paid by members through subscriptions. We never take commissions, referral fees, affiliate payments, or any other payment that depends on what members do, from anyone. We receive no payment or compensation of any kind from card issuers, banks, airlines, hotels, loyalty programs, booking sites, or anyone else whose products we evaluate.
We may work with brands from outside travel rewards whose products we never evaluate. Any such partnership is a fixed fee, is labelled wherever the brand appears, is kept out of every recommendation, and receives no member information. Each one is listed here at least 30 days before it starts, and members may then cancel with a full refund. There are none today.
We do not book travel, submit applications, transfer points, or make account changes for you. Our handling of member information is described in our Privacy Policy.
How we assess your options
A useful recommendation may be to take no action: pay cash rather than use points, leave points where they are, skip a benefit, or reconsider whether a card justifies its fee.
We assess options using information you provide and sources we identify. Where relevant, we distinguish what published terms establish from what depends on your preferences, future use, third-party decisions, or information we cannot verify.
Sources and freshness
We rely primarily on issuer and program materials, including offer terms, card agreements, and program rules. Where available, we identify the source and the date reviewed. We may also use observed prices or other information, which we distinguish from published terms.
Sources can be incomplete, inconsistent, changed without notice, or applied differently in practice. A date reviewed is not a promise that a term remains current. If we cannot substantiate a material point, we may withhold a recommendation or identify the uncertainty rather than fill the gap with an estimate.
Decisions that are difficult to reverse
Applications, account closures, and points transfers can have consequences that cannot readily be undone. We aim to identify material sequencing issues and uncertainties before recommending such steps, but we cannot identify every consequence or preserve an offer, award seat, price, or account benefit.
Do not transfer points solely in reliance on a proposed itinerary or transfer bonus. Check the live award, current transfer terms, and all material conditions immediately before you act. The decision to proceed is yours.
What we will not represent
We will not knowingly:
- Present an unverified live award price as a confirmed price.
- State that approval, bonus eligibility, an award seat, or a benefit is guaranteed when a third party decides it.
- Recommend misrepresenting information or violating applicable program terms.
- Treat the maximum advertised value of a benefit as the value you will personally receive.
- Count a benefit you tell us you will not use as value you expect to realize.
Crino does not recommend carrying an interest-bearing balance to earn rewards. We may decline to make a recommendation when the available information is insufficient.
No guaranteed outcomes
Crino does not guarantee approval, welcome bonuses, status, award availability, transfer outcomes, credits, savings, or any particular financial result. Prices, fees, ratios, eligibility rules, and benefits may change at any time. Figures shown by Crino are estimates, published amounts, or observations as labeled—not amounts owed to you or guaranteed to be available when you act.
If we display a confidence label, it expresses the strength of the available evidence as we assess it. It is not a guarantee or a promise of a particular statistical outcome.
Your decisions and accounts
You choose whether and when to apply, book, transfer, redeem, keep, or close an account. Before doing so, review the provider’s current terms, live price or availability, and any effect on your own finances and accounts.
Crino does not make those decisions or take those actions for you. Crino does not hold credentials or link accounts.
Errors and corrections
We may make mistakes or rely on information that later changes. When we identify a material error in an active recommendation, we may correct or withdraw it and, where appropriate and practicable, notify affected members. A correction does not mean we can reverse an action you have taken or guarantee recovery of any resulting loss.
Members can report a suspected error at contact@getcrino.com.
Scope of the service
Crino is not a bank, lender, card issuer, airline, hotel, or booking agent. We do not underwrite credit, assess your full financial circumstances, or determine your eligibility for a financial product. Crino does not provide legal, tax, accounting, or investment advice.
Our assessments are limited to the information and product features described here. They are not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who understands your complete circumstances.
Relationship to the Terms of Service
This policy describes how Crino approaches recommendations. The separately accepted Terms of Service govern contractual matters, including permitted use, subscription terms, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute resolution, subject to applicable law. Nothing in this policy excludes a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Changes
We may update this policy as the service changes. We will show the effective date of the current version.
