Terms of Service
Effective date: October 2026
These Terms of Service (the “Agreement”) govern your access to and use of Crino, including the Crino website, dashboard, and any related services (together, the “Services”), provided by Crino, Inc. (“Crino,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
Crino is a subscription service for individuals. It reads published card, benefit, and loyalty program terms, applies them to the cards and balances you tell us about, and tells you what it believes the better available option is. It does not book travel, hold or move your points, or act on your behalf.
By creating an Account or using the Services, you confirm that you have read and agree to this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
Section 13 requires most disputes to be resolved by individual arbitration and waives your right to participate in a class action. You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days of first accepting this Agreement, as described in Section 13.6. Opting out does not affect your Subscription in any way.
Definitions
In this Agreement:
“Account” means the credentials and profile you create to access the Services.
“Checkout Confirmation” means the order summary shown to you when you subscribe, and the confirmation sent to you afterwards, which state the Fees, the billing cycle, the date of your first renewal, and how to cancel.
“Fees” means the subscription fees payable for your Plan, as stated in your Checkout Confirmation.
“Plan” means the subscription tier you select, including its billing cycle and Fees.
“Privacy Policy” means Crino’s privacy policy, as published on the Crino website and updated from time to time.
“Recommendation” means any assessment, verdict, ranking, figure, or suggested action the Services present to you.
“Recommendation Policy” means Crino’s published recommendation policy, which describes how Recommendations are prepared and the limits of that approach.
“Subscription” means your paid access to the Services under a Plan.
“Your Content” means anything you submit through the Services, including the cards, balances, goals, and preferences you record.
“Your Information” means Your Content together with the account and usage data Crino holds about you.
Eligibility and your Account
2.1 Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to create an Account. By registering you confirm that you meet that requirement and that you are able to enter into a binding agreement. The Services are offered for your own personal and household use.
2.2 Creating an Account
You agree to provide accurate information when you register, to keep it current, and to tell us promptly if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your Account. We may suspend or close an Account if the information provided is materially inaccurate or misleading, or if we reasonably suspect fraud.
2.3 Account security
Multi-factor authentication is required on every Account. You must enrol a second factor when you create your Account and keep it current. Access may be blocked until you do.
You are responsible for keeping your credentials and second factor confidential and for activity carried out through your Account. Crino is not liable for loss arising from your failure to do so, except to the extent the loss results from Crino’s own breach of this Agreement or from any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Crino will never ask you for the password to any card issuer, bank, airline, or hotel account, and does not link to or hold credentials for those accounts. See Section 9.6.
2.4 One Account per person
You may not create more than one Account to circumvent Plan limits, pricing, free-trial eligibility, or any other term of this Agreement, and you may not impersonate another person.
Acceptable use
3.1 What you may not do
You agree not to, and not to allow anyone using your Account to:
- Use the Services in breach of any applicable law or regulation.
- Infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any person.
- Submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, threatening, hateful, discriminatory, or obscene.
- Introduce malicious code into the Services, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services, to Crino’s systems, or to another member’s data.
- Interfere with or place unreasonable load on the Services, including by automated scripts.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the Services, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.
- Scrape, extract, or collect data from the Services by automated means without our prior written consent.
- Resell, sublicense, rent, or otherwise provide access to the Services to anyone else, or use the Services to provide advisory services to third parties.
- Use the Services, or data obtained from them, to build, train, or improve a competing product or service.
3.2 Your Content
You are responsible for Your Content. You confirm that you have the right to provide it, that it does not breach any law, and that it does not contain another person’s confidential information without their authority. You should only record card accounts and balances that you hold or are authorized to manage.
3.3 Enforcement
We may investigate suspected breaches of this Section and take proportionate action, including issuing a warning, removing content, restricting features, or suspending or closing an Account. Where the law requires or permits it, we may report unlawful conduct to the appropriate authorities.
Subscription, billing and renewal
4.1 Plans
The Services are offered under the Plans described on the Crino website. Your Checkout Confirmation states the Plan you selected, its Fees, its billing cycle, the date your Subscription first renews, and how to cancel.
4.2 Fees and payment
Fees are payable in advance for each billing period and are not refundable except as stated in this Agreement or required by law. Fees are exclusive of sales and similar taxes, which you are responsible for paying. Any tax that applies to your Subscription is calculated and shown to you at checkout, before you pay, and appears on every receipt.
If a payment fails, we will tell you and you will have fifteen (15) days to bring the Subscription up to date. If payment is still outstanding after that period, we may suspend access to the Services until it is received. We will not charge interest on an overdue consumer Subscription.
4.3 Automatic renewal
YOUR SUBSCRIPTION RENEWS AUTOMATICALLY. Unless you cancel before the end of the current billing period, it will renew for a further period of the same length at the then-current price for your Plan, and the payment method on file will be charged.
You consent to automatic renewal separately, at checkout, before your first payment is taken. The renewal price, the billing cycle, the date of the first renewal, and the method of cancellation are shown to you at that point and repeated in your Checkout Confirmation.
For an annual Plan, we will email you a reminder between forty-five (45) and fifteen (15) days before each renewal, stating the amount, the renewal date, and how to cancel. For a monthly Plan we will email you before the first renewal and whenever the price changes.
You may cancel at any time from your Account settings, in the same way you subscribed and without contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep access until then, and the Fees for the period already paid are not refunded.
4.4 Price changes and founding members
We may change our Fees. Any increase takes effect at your next renewal and only after at least thirty (30) days' notice by email. If you do not want to pay the new price, you can cancel before the renewal date and the increase will not apply to you. A price change never applies part-way through a period you have already paid for.
Founding members. If you subscribed under Crino’s founding-member offer, the annual Fee for your Subscription is fixed at ninety-nine U.S. dollars ($99), exclusive of tax, and will not increase for as long as your Subscription renews without interruption. Sales and similar taxes are additional under 4.2, are set by your state rather than by Crino, and may change without affecting your fixed Fee. If your Subscription lapses, is cancelled, or is terminated, the founding-member rate ends and does not resume if you subscribe again.
4.5 Free trials
We may offer a free trial or a limited free tier. Where we do, the terms of the offer are stated when you take it up. A free trial converts to a paid Subscription at the end of the trial period unless you cancel first, and we will tell you before that happens. Free access may be modified or withdrawn at any time, and data associated with it may be deleted when it ends.
4.6 Cancellation
You may cancel your Subscription at any time, effective at the end of the current billing period. We may suspend or end your Subscription for the reasons set out in Section 12.
Use of the Services
5.1 Licence
For as long as your Subscription is active and you comply with this Agreement, Crino grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Services for your own personal and household purposes. This includes managing card accounts you hold personally or as the owner of your own business. It does not extend to reselling access, or to providing advisory or analytical services to anyone else.
5.2 Availability
We aim to keep the Services available, but they are provided on a commercially reasonable basis and may be interrupted by maintenance, repairs, or events outside our control. We do not offer a service level agreement or uptime commitment.
5.3 Changes to the Services
We may add, change, or remove features. Where a change materially reduces what a paid Plan provides, we will give reasonable advance notice. If we discontinue the Services altogether, we will give at least ninety (90) days' notice, during which you may export Your Information, and we will refund the unused portion of any Fees you have paid in advance.
5.4 Preview features
We may make features available in preview, beta, or early access. These are experimental, may be unstable or unsupported, and may be withdrawn at any time. They are provided as is, and Section 9 applies to them in full.
Your Information
6.1 You own it
As between you and Crino, Your Information is yours. Crino does not claim ownership of it and does not sell it.
6.2 What we do with it
You grant Crino a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, process, store, and display Your Information as necessary to provide and maintain the Services and to meet our legal obligations. We will not access, use, or disclose Your Information for any other purpose except as described in this Agreement or the Privacy Policy, or where the law requires it.
6.3 Security
We apply technical and organizational measures designed to protect Your Information, including encryption in transit and at rest and access controls. No system is impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6.4 Keeping and deleting it
You can export Your Information at any time from within the Services. If your Account closes, we will keep Your Information for up to thirty (30) days so that you can export it, and will then delete it unless the law requires us to keep it. You can ask us to delete it sooner and we will do so within a reasonable time.
6.5 Your part
Recommendations are only as good as what they are based on. You are responsible for the accuracy of the cards, balances, goals, and preferences you record, and for keeping them current. Where the Services ask you to confirm that information, an out-of-date confirmation may produce a Recommendation that does not fit your position.
Intellectual property
7.1 Ours
The Services, including all software, interfaces, designs, text, logos, and the catalog of card, benefit, program, and pricing data that sits behind them, are owned by Crino and its licensors. This Agreement grants you no rights in them beyond the licence in Section 5.1.
7.2 Feedback
If you send us suggestions or feedback about the Services, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use it without restriction or obligation to you. Feedback is not treated as confidential.
7.3 Yours
You keep all ownership rights in Your Content. You grant us a licence to host, store, process, and display it only as necessary to provide the Services.
7.4 Third-party materials
The Services may incorporate third-party software or data governed by separate licences. We do not claim ownership of those materials.
7.5 Trademarks
“Crino” and the Crino logo are trademarks of Crino, Inc. You may not use them without our prior written consent, except to refer to the Services factually and without implying endorsement.
Privacy
The Privacy Policy describes what information Crino collects, how it is used and disclosed, how long it is kept, and the choices available to you. It forms part of this Agreement. If you are a California resident, the Privacy Policy also describes your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, and the rights available to residents of other states with comparable laws.
Crino does not connect to your card, bank, airline, or hotel accounts, and does not collect or store credentials for them.
Recommendations: what they are, and what they are not
9.1 What a Recommendation is
A Recommendation is Crino’s assessment of the options available to you, based on the issuer and program information we have reviewed, the details you have given us, and our judgment at the time shown. It is an informed opinion. It is not a guarantee, an instruction, or a prediction.
Issuers and travel programs control their own terms, decisions, prices, inventory, and systems, and may change them without notice. Recommendations may be incomplete or become out of date. You must confirm material details directly with the relevant provider before you act.
9.2 No guaranteed outcomes
Crino does not guarantee that you will be approved for any card, receive any welcome bonus, qualify for any status, obtain any award seat or rate, recover any credit, achieve any saving, or realize any particular amount of value. Crino does not guarantee that acting on a Recommendation will leave you better off than not acting on it.
Any figure Crino shows is an estimate, a published amount, or an observation, as labeled at the time it is shown. It is not an amount owed to you, and not an amount guaranteed to be available when you act. Prices, fees, transfer ratios, eligibility rules, and benefits are set by third parties and can change at any time, including between the moment we read them and the moment you act.
Where Crino displays a confidence indicator, it expresses the strength of the evidence available to us as we assess it. It is not a guarantee, and not a promise of any particular statistical outcome.
9.3 Not professional advice
Crino is not a bank, lender, card issuer, airline, hotel, travel agency, broker, or financial adviser. Nothing Crino provides is financial, investment, tax, legal, or accounting advice, and none of it is personalized investment advice.
We do not underwrite credit, assess your overall financial circumstances, or determine your eligibility for any financial product. Applying for credit affects your credit file and creates obligations that sit outside anything we model. Decisions to open, keep, or close a credit account are yours, and you should take advice from a qualified professional who knows your full circumstances where the stakes warrant it.
9.4 Decisions that are hard to reverse
Transferring points to an airline or hotel program generally cannot be undone. An application is recorded whether or not it is approved. Closing a card can foreclose future offers.
We aim to identify material sequencing issues and uncertainties before recommending such a step, but we cannot identify every consequence, and we cannot preserve an offer, an award seat, a price, or a benefit. Do not transfer points in reliance on a proposed itinerary or a transfer bonus alone. Check the live award, the current transfer terms, and all material conditions immediately before you act.
9.5 How Crino is paid
Crino’s revenue comes from member subscriptions. Crino does not currently receive commissions, referral fees, affiliate payments, or paid placement from card issuers, banks, airlines, hotels, loyalty programs, or any other party whose products it evaluates, and does not sell member data.
Crino may in future enter commercial relationships that produce revenue from sources other than subscriptions. If it does, Crino will disclose the relationship prominently before it takes effect, will disclose it on each Recommendation it affects, and will exclude affected Recommendations from any calibration statistics it publishes.
In all cases, no Recommendation is made, ranked, or presented on the basis of compensation to Crino.
9.6 You decide and you act
Crino advises; it does not act. Crino does not book travel, submit applications, transfer points, redeem awards, or make changes to any account for you, and does not hold credentials for or link to your accounts. Every action arising from a Recommendation is one you take yourself, at a time you choose, having seen the live price and availability.
9.7 The Recommendation Policy
The Recommendation Policy describes in more detail how Recommendations are prepared, the sources they rest on, what Crino will not represent, and when Crino declines to advise. It forms part of this Agreement. Where the Recommendation Policy and this Agreement differ on a contractual matter — including permitted use, Fees, disclaimers, limitation of liability, or dispute resolution — this Agreement governs.
9.8 Disclaimer of warranties
EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY SET OUT IN THIS AGREEMENT, THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CRINO AND ITS LICENSORS DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. CRINO DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY RECOMMENDATION, FIGURE, OR OTHER OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR CURRENT.
Some states do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties. Where that is the case, the exclusions above apply only to the extent permitted, and you may have rights that this Agreement cannot limit.
9.9 Third-party services
The Services rely on third-party infrastructure and may link to third-party sites. We do not control those services and do not warrant their availability, security, or performance.
Limitation of liability
10.1 Excluded damages
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CRINO AND ITS AFFILIATES, LICENSORS, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, LOST DATA, OR LOST GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THIS AGREEMENT OR THE SERVICES, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.
10.2 Cap on liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CRINO’S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THIS AGREEMENT OR THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THREE TIMES THE TOTAL FEES YOU PAID TO CRINO IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIVE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($500).
10.3 Essential basis
The limits in this Section apply even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose, and reflect an agreed allocation of risk that forms an essential basis of this Agreement.
10.4 What is not limited
Nothing in this Agreement limits or excludes liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
- Our gross negligence or willful misconduct.
- Any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices–Consumer Protection Act to the extent it applies.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Crino and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any third-party claim, and from reasonable legal costs arising from it, to the extent it arises out of:
- Your breach of Section 3 (Acceptable use);
- Your breach of any applicable law or regulation; or
- Your Content, including a claim that it infringes a third party’s rights.
This obligation does not apply to the extent the claim arises from Crino’s own act or omission. We will tell you promptly of any claim for which we seek indemnity, and you may participate in the defence at your own cost. We will not settle a claim in a way that admits liability on your part without your consent, which you will not unreasonably withhold.
Term, suspension and termination
12.1 Term
This Agreement starts when you first use the Services and continues until it is ended under this Section.
12.2 Ending it yourself
You may end this Agreement at any time by cancelling your Subscription from your Account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
12.3 Ending it for cause
Either party may end this Agreement immediately on written notice if the other materially breaches it and does not put the breach right within thirty (30) days of being told about it in reasonable detail.
We may also suspend or end your access immediately, without prior notice, if:
- You breach Section 3 (Acceptable use);
- Your Fees remain unpaid fifteen (15) days after we have told you payment has failed; or
- Your continued use presents a security risk to Crino, to other members, or to third parties.
12.4 What happens then
When this Agreement ends, your licence ends and your access to the Services stops. You may export Your Information for thirty (30) days afterwards, after which we may delete it. Fees already paid are not refunded except as stated in this Agreement or required by law, and except that if we end your Subscription other than for your breach, we will refund the unused portion of any Fees paid in advance.
Sections 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12.4, 13, 14, and 16 survive termination.
12.5 Suspension
We may suspend access, in whole or in part, where you are in breach and have not put it right within the notice period, where we receive a credible legal demand relating to your use, where the law requires it, or where your Account is under investigation for fraud or a security breach. We will tell you when we do so unless the law prevents us, and will restore access once the issue is resolved.
Disputes
13.1 Talk to us first
Most problems can be resolved quickly. Before starting arbitration or a court claim, you agree to write to us at the address in Section 16.11 describing the dispute, and we agree to write to you at the email address on your Account. Both of us will try in good faith to resolve it within thirty (30) days.
13.2 Arbitration
If we cannot resolve it, any dispute arising out of or relating to this Agreement or the Services will be settled by final and binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, which are available at adr.org. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court with jurisdiction. Crino will register this arbitration agreement with the AAA as its rules require.
One arbitrator will decide the dispute. The arbitration will be conducted in English, and — at your election — on the documents alone, by telephone or video, or in person in the county where you live. You will never be required to travel to Texas to arbitrate.
13.3 Who pays
Crino will pay all arbitration filing, administrative, and arbitrator fees other than the portion the AAA’s Consumer Arbitration Rules allocate to you, which Crino will also pay if the arbitrator finds your claim is not frivolous. Each party bears its own legal costs unless the arbitrator awards them under applicable law.
13.4 Individual claims only
Arbitration is on an individual basis. Neither party may bring a claim as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding, and the arbitrator may not consolidate claims or preside over any representative proceeding. If this paragraph is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim — and only that claim — will be heard in court, and the rest of this Section continues to apply.
13.5 What is outside arbitration
Either party may bring a claim in small claims court if it qualifies and remains there, and either party may seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property or to stop unauthorized access to the Services.
13.6 Opting out of arbitration
You may opt out of Sections 13.2 to 13.4 by emailing us at the address in Section 16.11, with your name and the email address on your Account, within thirty (30) days of first accepting this Agreement. Opting out affects nothing else: your Subscription, its price, and every other term continue unchanged. If you opt out, disputes are resolved in court under Section 14.
Governing law and venue
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
For any matter not subject to arbitration, the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in [Travis County], Texas, except that you may always bring a qualifying claim in small claims court where you live. Nothing in this Agreement deprives you of the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the state in which you reside.
Compliance and export
You agree to comply with applicable law in your use of the Services. The Services may be subject to U.S. export control and sanctions laws. You confirm that you are not located in, or ordinarily resident in, a country subject to comprehensive U.S. sanctions, that you are not on any U.S. government restricted-party list, and that you will not make the Services available to anyone who is.
General
16.1 The whole agreement, and what governs what
This Agreement, together with your Checkout Confirmation, the Privacy Policy, and the Recommendation Policy — each incorporated by reference — is the entire agreement between you and Crino about the Services, and replaces any earlier understanding about them.
If they conflict, the following order applies: (a) this Agreement; (b) the Privacy Policy, on matters of personal information; (c) the Recommendation Policy, on how Recommendations are prepared; and (d) your Checkout Confirmation — except that your Checkout Confirmation governs the Fees, billing cycle, and renewal date of your own Subscription.
Nothing in this Section limits your remedies for any statement Crino has made fraudulently.
16.2 Changes to this Agreement
We may update this Agreement. For changes that are not material — corrections, clarifications, and changes required by law — we will post the updated Agreement with a new effective date.
For material changes, including any change to Section 10 (Limitation of liability), Section 11 (Indemnification), or Section 13 (Disputes), we will give you at least thirty (30) days' notice by email and ask you to accept the updated Agreement. Continuing to use the Services is not by itself acceptance of a material change.
If you do not accept a material change, the version you last accepted continues to apply until the end of your current billing period, and your Subscription will not renew after that. We will refund the unused portion of any Fees you have paid in advance for a period beyond that date.
16.3 Transfer
You may not transfer this Agreement or your Account without our written consent. We may transfer it in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, provided the transferee agrees to be bound by it. If we do, we will tell you, and you may cancel before the transfer takes effect and receive a refund of the unused portion of any Fees paid in advance.
16.4 Events outside our control
Neither party is liable for a failure or delay caused by an event beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, terrorism, civil unrest, labor disputes, government action, failures of internet or telecommunications infrastructure, and cyberattacks not caused by its own negligence.
16.5 Notices
We will send notices to the email address on your Account, and may also give notice inside the Services. You should keep that address current. You may send notices to us at the address in Section 16.11, by email or by recognized courier.
16.6 Severability
If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary and the rest of this Agreement will continue in force.
16.7 No waiver
A failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of it.
16.8 No partnership
This Agreement does not create a partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship, and neither party may bind the other.
16.9 Headings
Headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
16.10 Accepting electronically
Accepting this Agreement by clicking “I agree,” ticking a box, or subscribing has the same legal effect as a signature. We will record which version you accepted and when, and will provide that record to you on request.
